[Social Marketing Tips] How to Avoid 3 Really Bad Blogging Mistakes in Social Media

Social Marketing is a powerful force for traffic generation, list building and creating online visibility. And your blog is a powerful part of your social media system. It seems like some people forget that their blog is a significant part of their Social Marketing.

Even when online marketers get how important their blog is, unfortunately many bloggers consistently make 3 really bad blogging mistakes. Let’s take a closer look at these 3 mistakes and what to do instead.

Mistake 1 – Failure to make your blog the hub of your system – Many people neglect the power of their blog in Social Marketing. This is a big mistake because your blog should be the hub of your system. You can communicate more clearly and you can communicate longer on your blog, and thus people spend more time on your blog.

What to do instead - Use a Wordpress Blog and hook it up to the rest of your Social Marketing System. For example, each time I create a new blog post, it is automatically announced on Twitter and Facebook. You can also set it up so that all your articles from EzineArticles and all your tweets from Twitter show up on your blog.

Mistake 2 – Failure to post often to your blog – I see so many people set up a blog and then rarely update it with new posts. When someone goes to your blog and you have not posted in a month, you are communicating that your blog is not important or relevant. It’s not likely they will be back.

What to do instead - There is just no excuse to post at least 3 times a week to your blog, and more would be better. There is just so much you can post: your tip of the week or day, recent articles or turn an article into a several post series, your own videos or ones you find valuable from others, invite guest bloggers. Get in the habit of posting new content at least 3 times a week.

Mistake 3 – Failure to “seed the tip jar” - Part of the lifeblood of your blog is the comments shared by readers. This is how your readers “share in the conversation.” If you don’t have discussions going on in the comments section of your blog then something is wrong.

What to do instead – First of all, invite readers to comment. Invite them right in the blog post. When you email your list or announce your new blog post on Twitter, Facebook and elsewhere, invite people to “share their comments and join in the conversation.”

Then “seed the tip jar” in your blog. You know how you will see a tip jar at a coffee house or a bar? Have you ever seen the tip jar empty? I bet not, because the owners have learned to put a bit of money in the jar to “seed the tip jar.” They are using social proof to get the behavior they want.

You can do the same thing by “seeding your blog comments with your own comments on your blog post. This one little strategy encourages others to begin commenting and join in the conversation.

Frank Kern Says New FTC Advertising Guideline Revision Is A Big Deal

FTC Advertising Guidelines are SERIOUS!

Frank Kern says, “the new FTC advertising guidelines released DIRECTLY AFFECT YOU!” So the Social Media Marketer, the affiliate marketer, small business owner and network marketer are IMPACTED by this ruling. Make sure you understand it.

I unfortunately understand this first hand. A well known network marketing company, Seasilver, got themselves in trouble with marketing claims and ultimately got themselves shut down by the FTC. This action by the FTC or lack of actions on Seasilver’s part to get compliant ultimately evaporated the business itself and my livelihood, as well as tens of thousands of people at that time. Not following the FTC advertising guidelines can RUIN business and lives!

What is The Quansite Revoution?

So many people on Twitter have been asking me what is Quansite? Or what is the “secret society of the Quan”?

What is a “QuanSite”?

I’m really honored to share this with you. Quansite is coming October 13, 2009 to the general public.

Quansite, is the rebirth of the social media marketing platform I’ve been using for over a year called Blogi360 that the Social Networking Lifestyle website runs on. It’s a new media online marketing software and website hosting…plus so much more.

This Quansite system has been an integral piece to my social media marketing platform. I’m using it to build my website here as well has my Home Fitness Revolution site. Since early 2008, I’ve been using Blogi360 to run my sites.  This social media marketing platform is the backbone, the social hub of my social media marketing.

Write For The Social Networking Lifestyle

Do you have a great social media marketing tip or tutorial about building business through social networking that you’d like to share with other people interested in building a presence through social media and social networking? If so, the Social Networking Lifestyle is looking for guest authors (and regular contributors) to create some incredibly valuable articles for the community.

You don’t have to be a blogger or have a website to write something. All you need is to want to share some information that will help other people live the life they want to.

Of course, you’ll also gain the exposure of our passionate and ever growing audience. You could even become a regular writer here. :)

It’s easy to submit an article to be published.

Just write up your article (between 400 and 1200 words is best), include a photo suggestion from the flickr Creative Commons pool and include a 1-2 sentence bio with a link to your website or blog if you wish.

Please take a look around the blog, and make sure you understand what the social networking lifestyle is about. Social Networking Lifestyle covers the social media marketing and social networking lifestyle for work/business, entrepreneurship, freelancing, work-life balance, and whatever it takes to help you achieve your ideal lifestyle through social media and networking online.

If you’re curious whether we would be interested in your article about a particular topic, feel free to send a one paragraph pitch about your story.

I can’t guarantee every submission will be published. I’m looking for the highest quality and most helpful content (I don’t even publish all the articles I write myself). Also, your article must be unique and cannot have been published elsewhere.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and I look forward to your submission! :)

~Timothy Carter

Blogi360 A Residual Income Affiliate Program

Are you tired of making a sale or two from affiliate programs or the hype for that hot new affiliate business doesn’t make big money for you? A TRUE residual income affiliate program is RARE. Building a home based residual income is truly the ultimate opportunity to build a solid stream of passive income for those of us not selling records, starring on TV shows or writing books. BUT…

There are literally hundreds of thousands of affiliate programs that claim they will give you the opportunity to earn residual income with ease. But when you are marketing a product that really isn’t consumable, consistently used or has a high reorder rate with enough money paid out from it that it’s worth the effort to gain new customers and fellow affiliates. So really, a residual income affiliate program is so rare you’re more likely to find a two-legged walking laptop!

Building a residual income stream from an affiliate program is virtually non-existent. Until I found Blogi360‘s residual income opportunity.

Blog i360 is one of my 3 residual income business streams while the others are fitness and nutrition network marketing. Blogi360 is the only affiliate marketing.

Actually, in over a decade of building home residual income and network marketing combined with affiliate marketing, I have found THE only real option of a residual income affiliate program and that is found with Blogi360. The residual income stream that is possible with Blogi360 affiliate program really is something that exceeds expectation, over delivers on the product’s impact for your business, which is impressive in its own right, and provides a true residual income opportunity vehicle that has a 100% monthly reorder rate with very rare attrition…which means more MONEY over the long term.

How is that possible? Read on…

Blog i360 provides people with an incredible platform to run their blog on. It is the easiest of all blog platforms to use, build, promote and grow.

In the 21st century, having a high performing blog is a MUST to do business, to build your product brand, to share the latest announcements for your residual income opportunity, and grow your personal brand as you continue to develop your network marketing residual income business. A blog is essential today and will become even more valuable to have in the months and years ahead doing business. Having the ability to maximize your time promoting your latest updates, product news, without having to be a techie on running your blog or submitting it to the top social networking sites is possible with Blogi360’s powerful blog platform.

You can start your own Blogi360 blog for just ONE DOLLAR ! Talk about an AWESOME offer for people to
experience the power of what this product will give their blogging and social media marketing.

So not only do you have a product that really ANY network marketer, home business builder needs and uses on a monthly basis, but will pay you residual income commissions for the people that you sign up!

The BLOG i360 Promotion Partnership Program is unlike any other residual income affiliate program available on the Web. It has three levels of residual commissions to reward partners so if you’re a real go-getter, you’re going to be VERY happy.

PLUS – you have the opportunity to make shorter-term BIG commissions too! When you promote and make sales on the *Tribal Seduction* or *Pushbutton Persuasion* home study programs, you can add another a serious cash infusion. The Tribal Seduction program sells as an automatic OTO (One-Time-Offer)
during the signup process. And it’s also available at it’s regular retail investment along with other business boosting courses.

*You will receive 20% to 25% ongoing, residual commissions of every BLOG i360™ membership you sell – as long as your referral stays a member!

*You will receive an additional 20% to 25% commission on each and every sale of the Tribal Seduction™ home study program your clients purchase.

*You will get an added 5% to 8% ongoing, residual commission from every BLOG i360™ membership that a member of my 2nd tier down line sells.

I won’t let the REST of the amazing ways Blogi360 will impact your business, your ability to build multiple residual income streams out of the bag…I’ll just let you learn more about it!

If you have the desire to not just make money online, but to create the cash flow that will support the LIFESTYLE you want — then you’re in the right place!

How to Build a High Traffic Blog

A high traffic blog is really an important piece of your social media networking success. Prime examples are that are people like Darren Rowse of Problogger, Chris Brogan with his site, and Brian Clark of Copyblogger. The foundation of their success in social media is because they create quality content on their blog.

Build A High Traffic Blog Without Killing Yourself

Recently, entrepreneurial thought leader, Tim Ferriss of the 4 Hour Work Week fame, was recorded on video sharing on a wide range of topics, from posting frequency to blogging tools and community building. What I love the most about this 50 minute video was that he is sharing from experience in building his blog over the last couple of years. This is well worth the time to watch it. I’d love to read your feedback on what you learn from this.
